    Senior Program Manager at Microsoft

    Daniel A. Cervera is a Senior Program Manager at Microsoft, where he brings over a decade of specialization in high assurance PKI and in the development of cryptographic key management strategy. He engages with product teams from Azure to Xbox to ensure alignment with internal security standards, and serves as co-chair of Microsoft’s PKI Policy Working Group, a voting body composed of subject matter experts who enshrine sound principles into the company’s PKI security engineering requirements.

    Alexandre Aufrere has about 20 years of experience in the Digital Trust field and has worked for several PKI software vendors in the past. As CTO and associate at EVERTRUST, the French leading PKI and CLM software vendor, he leads the building of solutions to address customer needs in terms of certificate lifecycle management. Alexandre also has in-depth hands-on experience on the most popular PKIs on the market and has assisted in deploying PKI solutions all over the EMEA region.

    Chief PKI Officer at Keyfactor

    Tomas Gustavsson has a MSc from KTH in Stockholm and has been researching and implementing PKI systems since 1994. He has founded and developed the open source enterprise PKI project EJBCA. Also Tomas contributes to numerous open source projects, and is a member of the board of Open Source Sweden. As a co-founder of PrimeKey, he is passionate about helping users worldwide find the best possible PKI and digital signature solutions. Tomas believes that PKI is the backbone of internet security and as such it is imperative for all of us that it is available to everyone who needs it.

    With more than thirty years of experience in IT, from networking to Defence classified projects, Olivier brings a holistic view of security to our customers. For the last twenty years, he has focused on trusted identities with IDAM solutions, PKI, and Digital signature implementations in Europe, the US, and MEA. Olivier believes that the power of PKI – establishing trusted and secure communication by only exchanging public elements – is key to securing all IT layers starting with the Internet.   • Lawrence Hughes

    IPv6 Transition Specialist at Aptive Resources

    Lawrence Hughes has a strong experience in Email security, including corporate Anti-Spam. He has created a military grade secure DNS appliance (SolidDNS), which was the first one to fully support IPv6. He has created the basic technology, including a secure digital certificate management protocol (IRP) which allows embedding certificate management in applications or devices. His specialties are creation of new companies, niche analysis and product creation, Internet security, cryptography, Public Key Infrastructure, IPv6, E-mail, DNS/DNSSEC, AD/LDAP, etc. Inducted into IPv6 Forum “IPv6 Hall of Fame” in 2019. Lawrence has written several books such as “Pro Active Directory Certificate Services” and “Third Generation Internet Revealed: Reinventing Computer Networks with IPv6”.

    Axel Sandot is a Product & Business Manager in charge of security and digital identities of Internet of Things (IoT) and Cooperative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS, V2X). Member of the Atos Expert Community and lead of its IoT standardization taskforce, he has been performing his duty inside the Digital ID entity of the Group already for four years. Beforehand, he managed the business development and technological projects of European companies in Latin America around identity, biometrics, digital trust, dematerialization, and deployment of main infrastructure projects for more than 10 years.

    Cyber Security Consultant at Secunet

    Dr. Benjamin Herdeanu has been working as a consultant at secunet in the mobility and information security team within the Industry division since January 2022. The focus of his work at secunet is on PKI and Data Science projects. Benjamin works on image recognition machine learning projects as well as on the conceptual and technical PKI planning and implementation. Previously, he did a PhD in physics at Heidelberg University studying the “Emergence of Cooperation in Evolutionary Social Interaction Networks”. He has co-founded Utopia, an open-source software modeling framework for a complex and evolving system used in more than 20 Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD thesis so far.

    Senior Consultant Mobility & Information Security Technical Management Cryptography at Secunet

    Makan Rafiee has been working as a consultant at secunet Security Networks AG in the Automotive division and in the Industry division since 2020. Previously, he studied cryptography with elliptic curves during mathematics and computer science studies. The focus of his work at secunet is PKI projects, the planning and commissioning of Certificate Authorities (CAs) in the automotive environment. Makan participated in the Summer School for Post-Quantum Cryptography as well as the PQ Conference in 2017 and has been working on post- quantum primitives since then.

    Having had more than 30 years experience in IT I was involved in many PKI projects, mostly for banks and global corporations. PKI is a mature technology, but still exciting, irreplaceable in many security projects. Although some other technologies arrive for user authentication; I think PKI and smartcards are here to stay. Digital signature, IoT device authentication, use on mobile phones are some of the exciting areas to explore with PKI.
